Weekly Stories: Twitter suspends 235,000 accounts in six months for promoting terrorism

Among the accounts Twitter removed were those of the National Policy Institute, its magazine, Radix, and its founder Richard Spencer.

This story focuses on how Twitter is trying to combat terrorism with the wide amount of accounts that had resulted in over 200,000 accounts being banned.

  • Daily suspensions were up 80% since the previous year
In my opinion i think that this is a good idea that they would try and ban these accounts since this would mean that they can further prevent attacks. In addition to this it can also try to decrease the amount of influence that terror related accounts would have since this would also mean that accounts would be stopped and the mesages that they would spread would be halted.
